Innovative Steam Technologies (IST) Selects EmeraChem to Supply Catalyst for Municipal Power and Light George Sullivan Power Plant

 

Knoxville, October 24, 2014 – INNOVATIVE STEAM TECHNOLOGIES has selected EmeraChem, LLC to supply two catalyst systems for installation at the George Sullivan Power Plant project in Anchorage, Alaska.

Sullivan Plant 2A expansion project -a highly efficient, 120MW, combine-cycle thermal generation plant in east Anchorage.The expansion to the 1970’s era George Sullivan Power Plant is expected to be completed by the summer of 2016.  Municipal Light & Power anticipates the expansion to be one of the world’s most energy-efficient, thermal generation power plants.

The $275 million plant expansion will produce 120 megawatts in a 2x1 combined-cycle configuration.

EmeraChem has equipped over 250 combustion turbines with oxidation catalyst, or catalytic emission control systems worldwide and brings top-level scientific knowledge and many years of experience to the project.
